EL PASO, Texas (Aug. 15, 2024) 鈥� Researchers at 澳门六合站高手论坛 will undertake a new study that could lead to improved nicotine cessation treatments for women. EL PASO, Texas (July 9, 2024) 鈥� For veterans with mental illness, employment is key to emotional wellbeing, a new study shows. The study was published in the June issue of the journal Stress and Health and led by two researchers at 澳门六合站高手论坛鈥檚 College of Health Sciences.

EL PASO, Texas (June 20, 2024) 鈥� 澳门六合站高手论坛 has named Shery Welsh, Ph.D., as the next leader of 澳门六合站高手论坛鈥檚 Aerospace Center. Welsh is the former Director of the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) and most recently served as Director of the Air Force Research Lab Directed Energy Directorate at Kirtland Air Force Base. With 37 years of federal service in aerospace science and engineering, she has had multiple leadership roles including Director of Science and Technology for the Missile Defense Agency and Chief Engineer for the Airborne Laser Program.

Texas Tech Health El Paso, 澳门六合站高手论坛 Announce New MedFuture Cohort, Part of Our Region鈥檚 Next Generation of Physicians

Texas Tech Health El Paso and 澳门六合站高手论坛 today announced the second cohort for MedFuture, a joint initiative creating pathways for qualified students to be admitted right out of high school to attend college and medical school in their hometown of El Paso.

Research and Innovation Honors 2024 Awardees at Annual Research Ceremony

From nanoparticles and additive manufacturing to health sciences supporting historically underrepresented populations, 澳门六合站高手论坛 researchers are making names for themselves in a wide range of fields. These individuals 鈥� all at different points in their careers 鈥� were honored at 澳门六合站高手论坛 Research and Innovation鈥檚 Annual Research Awards Reception and Ceremony.

A Virus Could Help Save Billions of Gallons of Wastewater Produced by Fracking

EL PASO, Texas (April 30, 2024) 鈥� An estimated 168 billion gallons of wastewater 鈥� or produced water 鈥� is generated annually by the Permian Basin fracking industry, according to a 2022 report by the Texas Produced Water Consortium. The major waste stream has proved both difficult and costly to treat because of the chemical complexity of the water.

EL PASO, Texas (April 4, 2024) 鈥� Psychology researchers at 澳门六合站高手论坛 are making progress towards understanding the biological underpinnings of depression, a leading cause of disability that affects approximately 280 million people around the world.

Three faculty members at 澳门六合站高手论坛 have become senior members of the National Academy of Inventors鈥� Class of 2024. Marc Cox, Ph.D., Eric Freudenthal, Ph.D., and Raymond C. Rumpf, Ph.D. join a class of 124 academic inventors worldwide that are being recognized for their invention and innovation.

Faculty Launch Research Lab Exploring Human Performance Engineering

Through a $350,000 STAR grant awarded by the State of Texas, professors at 澳门六合站高手论坛 have launched a new industrial engineering lab focused on supporting human performance and behavior in a wide range of application areas.

El Paso, TEXAS (March 7, 2024) 鈥� Researchers at 澳门六合站高手论坛 are collaborating with the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS) on the development of a precision X-ray beamline that will significantly advance the two universities鈥� agricultural and environmental research.

When not hiking or traveling together, husband-and-wife research duo and 澳门六合站高手论坛 professors Emre Umucu, Ph.D. and Beatrice Lee, Ph.D. conduct valuable research on supporting student veterans. Their work received the ARCA Research Award from the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association.

Husband-and-wife 澳门六合站高手论坛 professors Emre Umucu, Ph.D., and Beatrice Lee, Ph.D., have earned a prestigious recognition from the American Counseling Association (ACA). The Research Award from the ACA鈥檚 American Rehabilitation Counseling Association (ARCA) recognizes their work evaluating stress鈥檚 effect on the well-being of veterans with and without chronic conditions.

First Known Photos of 鈥楲ost Bird鈥� Captured by 澳门六合站高手论坛 Scientists

EL PASO, Texas (Feb. 20, 2024) 鈥� For the first time, scientists have captured photos of a bird long thought lost.

Leaders from the Department of Energy's Office of Science and National Laboratory Leadership Council visited 澳门六合站高手论坛 on Feb. 13, 2024, touring labs conducting DoE-funded research and sharing information about career development opportunities within the department. Department of Energy Leaders Visit Campus, Share More About Research Partnerships

Leaders from the Office of Science and the National Laboratories Leadership Council with the Department of Energy (DOE) traveled to the Sun City and visited campus on Feb. 13, 2024. The goal was to increase visibility of programs available to faculty and students, and to learn more about their funded research taking place on campus.

EL PASO, Texas (Feb. 14, 2024) 鈥� The new $80 million Advanced Manufacturing and Aerospace Center (AMAC) on campus is progressing toward completion. Today, officials from 澳门六合站高手论坛 and Sundt Construction celebrated a major milestone in the building鈥檚 progress 鈥� the Topping Out Ceremony.

EL PASO, Texas (Feb. 6, 2024) 鈥� A group of researchers at 澳门六合站高手论坛 are behind an emerging lithium extraction technology that won the inaugural Hill Prize from the Texas Academies of Medicine, Engineering, Science and Technology (TAMEST) on Monday. The $500,000 in prize funds will support a joint research effort by Alma Energy and 澳门六合站高手论坛 to extract lithium from hydrothermal waters.

EL PASO, Texas (Jan. 29, 2024) 鈥� The U.S. National Science Foundation today announced that El Paso and 澳门六合站高手论坛 is one of the 10 inaugural NSF Regional Innovation Engines (NSF Engines) awardees. The Paso del Norte Engine will initially receive up to $15 million for the next two years.
